Changed oil (15w-40 diesel oil) along with distributor cap, rotor and wires. Should have been an easy job... but of course rust. One of the little bolts holding the distributor cap broke off at the thread. So now i have to spend today drilling that sucker out.

Why do you run such a thick oil are you trying to kill your seals and oil pump ?

This weekend I swapped the TC because my 242 was broken. Sadly, I put a 231 in. Couldnt get a linkage or the bezel thing for it on the inside of the Jeep. For now i have to manually shift my TC.

I still have driveline vibrations after that.

I also washed it while it was 96 degrees and sunny.

I've seen multiple people on here note that it worked well for them so I thought I'd give it a shot, plus it's summer and its hot out. It's working pretty well so far, oil pressure's steadily higher than it was with the previous weight I had in there.

Won't hurt a thing. Look what the factory recommended for our beloved 4.0s when they were new:

Jeep Engine Oil Viscosity

This was taken from pages 82 and 83 of the 1989 Chrysler/Jeep owners manual.

Selecting Engine Oil Viscosity

When changing or adding engine oil select the proper grade by using the chart on the following page. Select the grade that corresponds to the ambient temperature range you expect to encounter before your next oil change.

30*F to 100*F+ 20W-40 or 20W-50

0*F to 100*F+ 10W-30 or 10W-40

-20*F to 60*F 5W-30

Thanks for citing the correct source cruiser.

Also I should note that the oil pressure is most likely better due to me changing out the fram filter from the previous change I did in April for a Napa Silver (didn't have gold in stock).

Wouldn't doubt that a bit.

Changed the o ring on my fuel sending unit again. The auto parts places apparently keep giving me the wrong o ring, and after a few days of driving, it starts making its way into the tank, causing gas to leak.
This one I got from Napa, it seems to be right. Bigger diameter than the others. So once the Jeep is running again, I can see if my leak stopped.

Unfortunately buying a new intake manifold kept me from getting my 8.8 this week. Who at AMC thought it was a great idea to cast the top mount for the power steering pump into the intake manifold? That's where my manifold keeps breaking.

Oh, discovered I need new engine mounts too. Gonna get engine and tranny mounts soon.

Got a cargo net for the drivers door, original idea from no rdplz's build thread. Got it at the junkyard from an older ford ranger ext.

And I did this last week, but I installed clear bumper lights and blacked out the corners with VHT niteshades.
