Today I attacked my fuel tank skid with a 40 grit flap disc, grinding disc, and wire brush. ALMOST have all the old crap off!

I think the later hits the nail on the head. Just Empty Every Pocket makes the parts sound pricey, not for XJs . Just Enough Essential Parts? XJ is pretty far from that in stock form, i think thats more for older Jeeps. Just Embrace Every Problem, that's XJs. Something breaks? You can probably upgrade it.

If I'm not fixing something, I'm upgrading. Pockets always empty.
Essential parts only? My motto with the MJ was: What broke? Oh well, runs fine without it.
Embracing problems? You got that one pegged.
Well not just today but for the last month
Week 1 - front and rear 3 1/2" lift
Week 2 - 32" tires and black 6spoke rims i inherited from a buddy.. bald as sin
Week 3 - Acquired some tools and 3 cans of seafoam, oil, filter, fuel filter, valve cover gasket, some other maintenance items.. Transferred the title to my name *had it since january 5 just never did the title since i have been just working on it not driving it* thought there would be a fee but the ladies there love me apparently.
This week- new tools.
Yesterday got my bugout bag in and bought a Buckmaster compound bow 8 arrows and a couple broad heads.
Tomorrow - 2" hitch and some other random parts from a buddy hopefully

Tried to tighten down my my flywheel bolts. What a pain in the @@@. Atleast it quieted it down some. Still ticks but only noticeable when your close to tranny so that's good I guess. Turns out I never had a lifter tick!

Picked up some aftermarket (RC I believe) lower control arms from a friend for $20, painted them, and put them in. bushings in the stock ones were pretty cracked
