The prev. owner of my XJ had flopped it on it's left side. The damage wasn't that bad, I picked up all the glass at a local salvage yard & got it in over a weekend. Someday, I'll pull the rest of the dents... yeah, sure. For now, I just want it to be 1 color, OD Green, maybe some black on the flares too.
Today is the day I start making the XJ mine. I gathered my supplies, washed the XJ and parked it in the sun to dry. The sun was shining, only a slight breeze... so, I start taping and masking. 1/2 an hour later, I have the left side masked and ready to go. Pleased with my progress I reward my self with an ice-cold Mtn Dew and a little A/C. Cue ol' Murph and his law... While on my break, I checked the weather. The forecast says there is a storm about 50 miles away and it should go north of us. Oh Murph, you're on...
After my break I head out to pull the grill, marker lights & wipers so, I can finish masking. Just as my screwdriver touches the 1st screw, it happens... A bolt of lightning blasts a tree about 150 yards from where I'm working! It was far enough away that nobody was hurt. But, my plans of working alfresco had to be rethought... besides, I needed to go change my tighty-not-so-whitety-anymores.
I got the XJ under the carport just as the rain starts and return to the task. Murphy wasn't done with me, it's really starting to pour and I discover the carport leaks like a sieve on the right side of the Jeep... goody! The left side is dry, might as well paint what I have masked.
I know I'm gonna get some funny looks tomorrow. Oh well, maybe it'll be dry enough tomorrow afternoon to finish.

I thought thought it was the light at 1st but, no, dumb-*** me had bought 2 brands of paint! Not a huge problem. When I finish the lift-gate and top I'll "blend" it in.

New serp belt and idler are in, adjusted tps with multimeter, it was actually too far to the left so I was getting normal idle reading but then when the throttle was open a bit it'd jump to a WOT reading, then as you opened it more drop back to idle reading and then steadily climb.

Wired up the light bar. It puts out pretty good light. It is a combo spot/flood 14" light bar. I adjusted it up a bit after the pic.
