So I saw this on my phone and all it says in the comment on the lift is ": worthless :" because the phone app can't parse the pictures. That explains a lot of previous posts.

Logging in to the computer, I see now what you mean. Totally worthless without pictures. It thought he was just being a jerk, glad I looked on the computer before I said anything.

The last part aside due to site rules, every scenario I can think of makes him an idiot.

Was he trying to pass a semi while going around a curve and that's why he didn't see the car coming, or was he trying to pass it on a straight section of road and managed to roll his Jeep four times instead of braking and merging back into his lane?

My guess is a cell phone was involved.

I was gonna let this pass, but I don't condone anti-seatbelt rhetoric based on the rare occasion that someone who put himself into that situation gets lucky.

My seatbelt most likely saved my life in my double rollover since my 97lb floor jack broke free. It came to rest on the headliner less than 6" from my head, and it scared the **** out of me. I'm rather glad I wasn't bouncing around in the Jeep with it, and I don't ever want to rely on being 'safely' ejected from a vehicle in an accident, particularly so in a rollover.

He got very lucky. If I were you, I would not stop wearing my seatbelt because of this. You can talk to my wife or anyone else that works in an ER and sees the aftermath of things like this.

^This,

He was extremely lucky, the vast majority of people ejected during roll-overs are either crushed by their own vehicle or propelled into a solid object (or another vehicle, hard ground, etc.) with sufficient force to cause death or severe injury. You have a much better chance surviving a crash while wearing your seatbelt than not.

Yep. My wife was involved in a rollover accident in her Hyundai Sonata , Her ex bf was driving the car took a curve way too fast and rolled the car 3 times. 2 things saved her live the seatbelt and side impact airbag pushed her head back in the car the seat backs broke on both seats keeping her and him inside as the roof was flush with hood and trunk.

My buddy Kevin survived hitting a tree going 50mph cause of a seatbelt. His was cause by hitting black ice going around a curve sending him out of control.

I too survived a deadly tree around 45mph. Did have a jcr bumper. But it would have hurt a lot more without a seat belt.

Well it took a few weeks, but, I finally lifted the XJ. All installified:

29-spline 8.25 with ZJ discs
Refurbed HP D30
RE 3.5" stiffer than a fossilized hardon coils
Some super cheap RC AAL on someone else's leafs (took about 3 days to get shackles and leafs out trying to not damage the welded nuts, mounts, or framerails)
Matching RC shocks (did the shocks with one person in a total of probably 30 minutes. Would've taken less time but trying to maneuver wrenches on the P/S with A/C hoses in the way is a challenge.)
Crappy Princess Auto roof basket
Changed all tires to 31"
ZJ steering upgrade
YJ extended brake lines
Snapped a screw in C8.25 yoke... swapped old yoke from old axle, managed to get one side drilled out for the U bolt U joint straps before I dulled the bit lol
Ditched rear sway bar
Trackbar relocation

Took it for an alignment after doing the measuring tape-and-eyeball gig in my driveway, I was 0.5 degrees off of toe and a little bit to the right. Not bad ****ing alignment shop left the frame-side LCA bolts loose, though. NOT impressed that I had to stop and wail on **** with a breaker bar. Still trying to figure out where the death wobble is coming from.

I have to bleed the brakes a few more times I think, the new setup doesn't even compare to when I had the drums. And that's before I developed a leak and clamped the rear soft line.

Then I took it on a 3200 KM round camping trip up to 53.790778, -79.06693 It did very well aside from fuel mileage, loose LCA bolts, bumpstop slamming onto axle hard line, and random death wobble.

Huge fan of seat belts and air bags. Cars have gotten much safer over the years, but unfortunately drivers have failed to improve at the same rate. Just the oppositte in fact, it seems smart phones and texting have taken a priority over actually driving....bit of a shame actually.

Spent the night on the mill cutting the tube frame of the tire carrier back to dimension so I can weld it onto the hinge brackets and mount it to the bumper for the tire carrier.
