Got an APN header in today. Also pulled the cylinder head off. Decided since I had half of the crap out of the way, I might as well go ahead and remove the head to get new valves, guides, and springs as well as resurface the deck.
Also took a look at the E3 plugs. Cylinders 3 and 4 look to be getting a little oil. That helped me make up my mind to get the valves, guides, and springs replaced. All cylinder walls look good.
The crud in the cylinder is some of the build up that was knocked loose from the intake. It will get vacuumed out.

Not alot. If you wanna get rid of it without pulling the manifolds or head, add a can of bG44K to a full tank of gas. Run it to 1/2 tank. Refill with gas and run to 1/8 tank. Your injectors will also get a thorough cleaning at the same time.

I don't know, but when your arteries are blocked going to your heart, you don't perform as well. My guess is the intakes were blocked by as much 10%. Looks like some fuel would get trapped in the crud and then slowly dribble down the intake. Airflow had to be reduced as well.

If you have 4 cats your probably stuck with 0331 casting and limited header choices.
