The shop is going to magniflux it to check for cracks. If no issues, new springs, guides, and if necessary, new valves. They are going to check the valves and see if they are good. When I dropped it off, he said they look good but until they test them they won't know. I am guessing but I did not ask, they are going to make sure the valve seats are sealing good. If not, lash them and put in new valves to match.
They are going to resurface the head since they are prone to a warp a little being so long and skinny.

They're pretty tough heads and valves.

If its not cracked and the valve seats are good you're probably ok just slapping it back in. Why did you pull it in the first place? Doing a header right?

It should be common sense for any reputable machine shop to magnaflux it and check for warping. That's what I based my above comment on.

This shop has a pretty good rep and they service a lot of the dealerships in Houston. I pulled it because the new header and when I looked in the intake on the head, number 4 looked like there maybe some oil on the valve shaft and the plug has some black on it like it was getting oil on it. There was a small amount of oil seeping on the passenger side near number 4 also. My guess is a worn out valve guide and maybe the head was warped, not sure though. They will tell me. If the guides are good, then that leaves the rings for number 4 being the issue. The gasket looked ok in that area.

Drivers side axle u joint, it
Sucked
Without a press.
No more shimmy/ wobble. Woo hoo!
Took longer with my carpal tunnel syndrome
But it felt so good to turn a wrench.
Now my old bones are felling it though.
God bless PB blaster!
Oh ya killed a master craft 1/2" ratchet removing the 36 mm shaft nut.
My 30 year old craftsman ratchet with a 2' pipe saved the day.

Driver side is the easy one lol, the shaft is nice and short...I've done enough I got it down easy. But it helps having a couple of the right tools and tricks.

Pop the wheel and brakes, take the spindle but off with an impact gun, then get the bearing bolts out, and the best way to get the bearing out in one piece is super easy.

Just get a bolt that fits between the stub shaft u-joint ear and the axle housing with the knuckle on a slight angle. Snug it up so the bolt doesn't move, then turn the steering wheel toward the bolt. The magic of mechanical advantage will press a 25 year old bearing out in no time.

I use a 2' breaker bar on that nut. I've got to stand on it but it gives eventually.

My dads 30 year old set of ratchets are the greatest things. Some sockets have cracked but the ratchets keep kicking like nobodies business.

I went out and bought a 1/2" set that turned to scrap after a year.

There's something oddly satisfying about breaking a POS tool on something it was made for.

I loosen the bolts a bunch, put a scrap 13mm socket on em and let my 2lb hammer do the work. I don't like stressing my steering if I can help it.
