Replaced my battery, which turned into replacing battery terminals, which turned into making a new hold down. Simple is never simple around here.

X2, really been wanting a set of these if they work well...although the longer I procrastinate, maybe the price will drop...

Bought a long block from Auto Zone. Mitchell Engines I think. Then replaced/accomplished all the following:

TRANSMISSION SERVICE KIT
TRANSMISSION LINE FARRING (Worn)

ACCEL TUNE UP KIT (Wires, Cap, Rotor, Plugs)

RADIATOR HOSE UPPER
RADIATOR HOSE LOWER
FAN CLUTCH
EGR VALVE
OIL DIPSTICK TUBE
STARTER
WATER PUMP
WATER PUMP TUBE
SERPENTINE BELT
POWER STEERING PUMP
SWAY BAR REPAIR KIT
SHOCKS FRONT
SHOCKS REAR
O2 SENSOR
FUEL INJECTOR O RINGS
BRAKE ROTORS (REAR)
BRAKE PADS (REAR)
BRAKE CALIPERS (REAR)
COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR
OIL PRESSURE SENDING UNIT
IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE
TRANSMISSION OIL
ENGINE OIL
ENGINE OIL FILTER
COOLANT
LIGHT BAR
CSI WIRELESS OFF ROAD LIGHT REMOTE CONTROL
OFF ROAD LIGHTS 4X55watt (2xspots+2xwide)

SEAT COVERS (Cabelas camo with molly on back)

Total=$4,492.80

Should be good for 10-20 more years, with other repairs as required. Any advice on high mileage repairs that might pop up like wheel hubs etc would be appreciated. There were some tricks to make the engine swap easier that I'll share with anyone interested.

If you didn't upgrade the battery cables, look into that next. Stock cables won't handle 160 amp current. I bought a set from 5-90 at kelleyswip.com and they're high quality and fairly priced.
Making them myself would've only saved me $15, but buying from him saved me time and a lot of hassle.

I was driving on the highway, level ground, at about 2500RPM in 2HI with a 231. I heard a horrendous noise and lost throttle, so I pulled off onto the shoulder. When I got out, I saw this:
