Precisely. The bumper was rusty as **** anyways. Didn't look good, bumper caps were trash. I tried turning the bottom bolt on the bumper and the nutsert started spinning so I said f it where's my cut off wheel. Cut up the bumper and hit the brackets with the impact.

Regeared my rear spare 8.25. Doing the front tomorrow
4.56's waiting on a locker to toss in before I install the axle. BL came out to .0065", or a tad but higher, after the carrier bearing preload adjusters were set. I might just run it open for a while though, not sure yet. I can't wait to measure the backlash on my 30 tomorrow lol, it's going to be astronomical.
Did this all by myself too, I feel pretty proud for a 19 year old.

Salad, I'll have to grind down two teeth just a hair on the ring gear at the toe of the tooth.
Brent, it's fun!

I've been planning on doing this myself, I just don't really have the right tools to measure? I've got a digital caliper and a good eye-ball haha. Was there a write up you followed? 6-800 bucks for a re-gear isn't in my budget haha.

Bought a $550 rear bumper and tire carrier from my buddy for $200. Then we realized three of the old bolts were broken off and rusted in their holes, there was some rust on the bottom from scratched powdercoat, and one of the mounting tabs was mangled.
I made him (he volunteered to) make and weld on a new bracket, drill out the bolts, and grind/prime/paint the rust spots. I went and got new grade 8 hardware while he did that, and we got it installed well after dusk.
To do tomorrow:
Torque mounting bolts
Trim rubber stoppers to fit behind it
Relocate license plate
Mount/balance/install spare tire
Grease spindle and latch pin
Cap the vertical 2x2 opening
We'll see how much gets done. No pics yet cause it's dark outside, and the project remains unfinished.
