No, you don't have to drop the trans. as far as this being a real issue, that's not proven.

Good idea to do a drain and fill on the trans anyway.
While you're here, cruiser, do you have knowledge of the 32RH used in late YJ Wranglers? It's a TF999 with electric lockup. I'm curious what fluid is meant to be used in my '93.

The lift is nice, the gears are quick and the driveline vibes are not that terrible. Driving with a locker is kind of weird though. I do still have some death wobble though. Only seems to happen at around 70 when turning slightly and if I hit a pavement imperfection. It's bad enough for me to have to slow way down. Track bar perhaps? I'm still using the OEM one and I had to redrill the axle mount bracket to make it work. I also think it could be my 235/75R/15 all seasons that need to be balanced (i.e. replaced with 31x10.5s).
Or control arms/bushings

Kinda outta my "time zone". Perhaps someone who lives in the 21st century will chime in. LOL.

This?
Over near the transmission dipstick tube are 2 rather large connectors. One is black and the other gray. These 2 connectors carry all the info between TPS, TCU, NSS, speed sensor, and transmission solenoids.
Unplug each one, visually inspect for corrosion or bent pins, spray them out with electrical contact cleaner and plug them back in.

Additionally, if your Jeep is an 87 to 90 Renix, it’s always a good idea to reach up under the glovebox area and unplug the connector to the TCU and spray it out along with the receptacle of the TCU. While you’re there, find the fuse right in that area for the TCU. Remove it and spray out it’s receptacle and clean any corrosion from the fuse.

Valve body is inside the trans. U can access it by taking off the pan and filter, it's right there. Solenoids control the valves, sending fluid into proper channels. There's a gasket between the trans and valve body. That's what he says

Thanks cruiser. I ll try that. Hopefully that does the trick.

The reason why I decided to do trans filter and fluid because when I got if from the junkyard (way back before I joined the forum or knew anything better) and it was low on fluid so I filled it up with ATF 4 fluid.

Now I researched and found that it can cause slippage issues.
So hopefully the new fluid and doing the post #10 will remedy the problem.

Do a series of drain and fills with plain old Dex/Merc.

Also do the connectors.

I plan to replace the filter too. When I took the filter out last year, it was chunky. In fact it was the reason why the jeep wouldn't even move at all. With new filter, it moved effortlessly.

So I'm sure there's more leftover dirt inside the trans, so I might as well as replace the filter again this year too, plus fill wit d/m III instead of ATF 4 too

Yeah the photo won't show up on my computer. How do the plugs cause the slipping?
