Did a compression check, lowish numbers for an 0331 head with 170k maybe just worn valve seats, though the coolant I added the other day is gone oil was dark though.. Gapped the plugs, they were about .040 and a little white, but otherwise they were in good shape. New battery hold down. tested my solenoids because of bad shifting when cold and a CEL, one solenoid is bad. Got my SYE parts in and dicked around with ujoints for a while trying to put together the new shaft. long day, but good.

Did an oil change with a filter I'm trying, WIX 51459. 7" unit with a ****load more surface area recommended on an IH forum. Jeep took almost 7L of oil! Here it is next to our favorite 51515 and another filter I'm going to play with:
Attachment 221039
Yes, it actually fits:

Intentionally or did you tires do that for you? lol
Not as they come stock. Renix oil filter adapters have a metric thread, later years and all of these other applications use SAE threading. There's an OFA you can put on to use SAE-threaded filters, not sure if it's a special part or if it's just a matter of getting an OFA from a later year. cruiser54 has posted the part number a couple of times, if memory serves. (In North America the options for metric threaded filters in this class are limited, most of the applications for these filters are trucks and heavy duty equipment. WIX 51459 screws onto a bunch of Perkins-powered tractors, for example)

Not much- fixed a buggered up rear wiper washer hose and got my glove box opened. The latch quit working yesterday. One of the little lever arms in the latch broke (crappy design). I took the guts out and put it back together. I'll find a replacement at a junkyard at some point.

Beach Bum
I tried one and it vibrated bad. Returned it.
But the yoke can be turned into a Hack-N-Tap.
