One speaker was barely being held in by 1 screw, with the other three having pulled out already, so I took it out. One day, I didn't get the gate support stick in the proper place. It slipped, the gate slammed shut, and shot the other speaker into the rear seatback.
My '95 came with 6x9s installed in the liftgate. Whoever put them in did a half@$$ job of it though. They filed away all the fiberglass and just had them screwed into the plastic/fiberboard panel. I can't comment on weight, because the lift gate struts are shot, and the Jeep came with a cut stick to prop the gate open.

Which Jeep smell? The grinder disc and rust you'll never get out of the HVAC vents, the gear oil that spilled in the back while you were hauling the new axle, or the mud from when you swamped it? lol

Replaced fuel ballast resistor, installed four new speakers (Morel Maximo Coax 5's), picked up a rear speaker bar and put it in (sounds WAY better with the rear speakers out of the liftgate!) and ordered a small 8" subwoofer and 2 amps (one mono for sub, one four channel for speakers)

Did an oil change, K&N oil filter I love that it has the bolt on the back! Promotive Air Filter, and up graded rain-x windshield wipers instead of those metal ones, I love the look of the new kind. But the oil change took like 4 hours instead of 30-45 minutes couldn't get the damn oil filter off. I don't have any special tools for that so I used sandpaper and my hands, PITA!

I had some bad luck today, went to the JY to get a new headliner board, all 3 XJ's had the rear hatch locked, can't get the board out any other way.
Got in the cargo area in one an kicked at the rear hatch till I got tired, no cigar.
