Welded the IRO double-shear track bar on. I guess it kept getting loose. This should do it.

I spent the whole day wrenching on my little green XJ yesterday. Cleaned the throttle body & battery, lubed the suspension & steering, stripped off some surface rust from the undercarriage, primed and undercoated, vasolined the weather seals & lubed the door hinges & locks. I also organized the portable garage I carry around in the back because ain't nobody else working on him but me.

Well i mean those are the sockets i used, they had a hair of play but did the job with no issues. I'm more than certain they are the originals

Picked up some new bushings for the tie rod and drag link I picked up. Also got some new u-bolts for the rear axle for when I do the suspension. Anyone know of a good kit for the rear leaf mounting bolts?

No kit I'm familiar with, the leaf bolts are all M14x2.0 120mm ISO Class 12.9 flange head, should be able to find them at Fastenal, etc. I think Rock Auto sells them for a few bucks too

Yup, they all are 15mm bolts just one pair is 17mm, sorry i used a 5/8 but i recall them (15mm and 5/8) being the same size when looking for the right head size for the 17mm.

Actually..........5/8 is closer to 16mm. You'd need a 19/32 to work on a 15mm............just my 2 cents.

Did the same the other day.
- BTW, - Door Locks

Anyone try upgrading early model (AMC style) door locks to the newer XJ Chrysler style, or any other door lock key style (WJ, ZJ, Ford, Mercedes, Acura...)??? <wtf>

I actually watched a spring fall out of my door lock 'slit' the other day - tired of these flimsy locks and keys --> Need an upgrade lock !!

Yeah that's what I was getting at lol. A 15mm socket won't fit on a 5/8" head.

If I get the chance today I'll see if I still have my OE UCA bolts in a bin somewhere. Curious how big the head is.

"New style"? Lock cyliders I picked up listed 1984-2001 application... Not to mention my 2001's key looks compatible with the '87 or '88 at the JY

Replaced my brake master cylinder but lo and behold, if it sits any length of time the Neutral Safety Switch will not let it start. No amount of wiggling the shift handle would get it to work this time. Next up I will be bypassing the NSS with a starter button then maybe when it is warmer and dryer, I will tackle the NSS cleanup. Snow on the ground, still can't move the Cherokee into the garage to work on it, and it is supposed to snow more today.
