Drove it to work again... stupid pressure line for the power steering on my grand prix was the wrong one. I really need to get the car up so I can park the Jeep. It's starting to get harder to start 'cause it needs a tune up and I'm sure the injectors need a good cleaning too. Ugh.
But hey, at least I can depend on it still.

Did this Friday... anyway I bought a scan tool from Harbor Freight and checked the code in my XJ had an evap code so I checked all vacuum lines and could not find any that were bad so I replaced the fuel cap cleared the code and it's been mil light free so far. I checked the light on my Chevy truck and found codes p0171 & p0174 lean bank 1 & 2 did some research and will be cleaning the mass airflow sensor today. I tell you from a former ASE master auto
technician this scan tool does what it says & and for the price I'm pleased with it. Sorry for the double picture

Burped the cooling system, and she happily at 195°F again, but it's spewing antifreeze from what seems to be the thermostat housing. May have to remove it and be more patient with the RTV this time.

installed AVS wind guards, finished removing the vinyl from the rocker panel and removed a few rust spots and covered them with primer. Now, I may need to do the rest of the jeep, to make it all blend. Both my hood and roof have no clear coat left and there are quite a few small spots all over that are wearing away.

Here is a follow-up to my RC 4.5" lift I just finished
Hey guys,
So I inherited a 97* (I was corrected earlier) XJ. I had a $2500 budget. So I bought the RC 4.5" lift, steel wheels, tires, rack, lights.
The lift job went very well. The only thing that I was not ready for was that I had to build the control arm joints. Which was not a big deal just unexpected. I also had to remove the tow hitch to get the bolts out of the rear shackle. Everything went great until the test drive...
DEATH WOBBLE is fierce. I have never experienced anything like that and almost ***** myself. It only happens between 30-45mph. We inspected everything. Made sure everything was torqued to spec but cant find anything. There are some bushings that need to be replaced on the drag link and tie rod. I am taking it in to a off road alignment shop to see if they can fix the issue.
Every car has their quirk. Mine is called a death wobble and is the second scariest thing I have experienced besides tank slapping at 110 mph on a KTM 525 in the Mojave Desert. Ha!
