They probably used a more expensive OE-style cat, Performance Curve is ridiculously cheap in part because they're high-flow, which implies less precious metal. If you check out Rock Auto you'll see cats priced about what you paid. So yeah, assuming you didn't buy an empty shell, $150 total for a new cat is a pretty good deal.

Took off the hood release handle complex, cut the complex off the cable and trimmed the cable housing to provide access to the cable inside. I'm undecided on whether I want to replace the cable or just attach a BMX side pull brake to it that you would pull to pop the hood.
To be honest, I'm leaning towards bmx brakes.

I was thinking about that shortly before the cable broke. I changed my mind on it after I found that some lithium spray made the latches operate smoother than the head of Telly Savalas. Unfortunately, the damage had already been done to the release cable as it broke off on the 2nd opening after it was lubed.

MOAR PAINT WAS APPLIED!!!!
Sorry about the dark *** picture....It's not quite that dark as the finished product. Nice thing about this undercoating is since it's rubberized, it takes Armor-All really nicely!

Canceled the insurance. Gotta deal with all the legal bs to get a "totaled" vehicle re-titled and registerable so I can start rebuilding it.
