Not today but yesterday I took apart the broken center console latch and figured out a way to modify it slightly with an extra piece of metal.
It's needs a little more modification as the new latch still allows the console to open about 1/2" before it catches but the concept seems sound and my console can be latched.

Well, the way i see it, you either go one of two ways. You either have the tool already and find any project in the world just use it or you go and buy the tool just for that one project and it sits there. #jeeplife bwahahahahahaha

So I'm thinking about taking my front doors off soon. Might get some doors without power windows and locks for when i put doors back on so i can eliminate wiring for front doors at least like my wife's tj

There's a mod you can do to retain that stuff (if you want). Some ZJs have a massive connector that will accomodate all of the wiring in an XJ door. Go looky for the writeup

But will the door still close? The hex heads stick out farther, they don't touch when the doors are closed and interfere with it closing all the way?
