You likely have factory speaker wires run to the rear. Check the hatch panel. If it has 'grills' for speakers than the harness may also be there. Otherwise the harness goes to an overheard speaker bar. Wires would be above driver side rear fender window (under trim).
A stock speaker bar will mount to the ceiling of your 1996 without modification.

Spent some time cleaning her up today, mostly inside removing trash and fixing some wiring to my scanner and CB radios along with re-routing my anntenna cable for them. Moved it further to the back and away from the regular anntenna to cut down on some of the static, and it worked! Lol
Then after a brief look over of what else I wanted to do, I decided on putting my frickin' tire carrier back on since it fell off one day. Luckily, in the driveway and not on the road....One of the bushings in the hinge fell apart and PLOP! Fell right off....
Got some good stainless steel bolts and washers and put it back on with some LocTite on the threads. Seems to be holding good, except I need a new cable on the bottom that limits how far it opens. Had to cut the old one since the bolt is rusted into the bumper....
Anyway, here's a shot of her with her *** back on!

Got my front shocks back on, pretty sure when the drivers side comes back off its going to need cut, so new shocks when that happens.
Got the rear hard brake line ran, looks good, fits fine. Hooked the master cylinder back up.
I cleaned out some old wiring and stuff from the engine from when I had aux lights. I also bundled up and tied back the wires and tubing I used to relocate my washed fluid reservoir. Its I'm the way until I get to it.
Eating a little lunch now then back to working on it.

Went to the local UHAUL and got a wiring kit, got home and installed it. Hooked my trailer up and everything was perfect. Gotta start packing for camping next weekend.

Installed a new passenger side headlight.
Installed a new fan clutch and bypassed heater coar. Now I'm running a little above 210. I'll pick up a new fan shroud this weekend.

Nothing yet, but I started a frame repair yesterday, I just didn't have the tools I needed to finish the job. I own them but I lent them out and have to go pick them up today.
