Well I got the 231 shifter in, I didn't know for sure if just swapping the gate would work so I did the whole thing. Even swapped the little plastic piece that shows the gear change pattern in.

Then I (eventually) got the 8.25 married to the leafs. Definitely gonna get new ubolts asap. The old ones I pulled with the axle were crusty and I had to use a random nut because one stripped out. Ah well it more than likely wont get driven before it gets the new ones.

Also bolted the shocks to it. Tomorrow gonna get the extended brake hoses on and parking cables attached. Then driveshaft and the new boostwerks shift linkage...

..
FYI, axle u-bolts should not be re-used once they have been tightened and 'stretched'.

FYI I've heard that already. I read extensively on the subject. There's arguments both ways. Stories of years of success with old u bolts, failure with new ones and old ones. One interesting thing I read was a guy questioning whether or not checking and re tightening them is the same as removing them and reusing them.

Either way they'll be getting replaced but thanks for your concern.

Ordered up my 2.5" Catalytic Converter from Performance-Curve last night think I'm going to match it up with a Thrush 2.5" welded muffler. I already got my APN manifold yet to install, so hopefully next weekend I'll actually have a exhaust system again and no more listening to the cracked manifold and no muffler

Cut out part of the frame, cleaned up around the area, cut out a 10g patch, blasted all the crap out of the frame, and hit all the bare metal with weld through primer. Tomorrow I will be welding everything in
