I've seen statements online from both Remington and Goodyear in reference to products sold by Walmart with their names on them being inferior to their std products. Both said some of the products sold by Walmart are made just for Walmart but are in no way inferior. I mean how could Fram make a more inferior product just for Walmart than their std inferior ones.

Just kidding Fram.

FIFY (that is a term I learned from you).
NAPA Gold is 1515 for oversize.
Wix is 51515.

Just kidding Fram.
I read that since their buying from the lowest bidder that these companies cut quality and cost just for walmart so they can meet the bid price

Same with Home Depot. Name brand items are often sub-standard due to their forceful buying practices from vendors/manufacturers.

So they "tool up" special equipment just to make an inferior product? That's one of the ways in which both Remington and Goodyear responded to the inferior products claim.

They may cut cost because Walmart buys in such large quantities.

I use to think the same way. Yrs back I was doing alot of centerfire rifle accuracy "tuneups" for friends. The Remingtons from Walmart may not have been as fancy (jeweled bolts, fancy stocks, etc) but otherwise they were the same. Think about it. What cheaper bbls and actions out of special machinery just for Walmart? My SIL's dad who worked for Winchester 40+ yrs told me they same thing. Special products but no way inferior.

BUT I still buy my filters from NAPA and firearms from a dealer friend.

^x2. No way a mass manufacturer is going to change out pieces of their assembly tooling to make an inferior product. Businesses don't operate like that. Rebranded is exactly that, just a different name.

Finally took the time to find out what remote starter is in my XJ. Now I can either remove it or program it the way I want.
