Pulled misc. parts off old Jeep, (tow hooks and brackets, skid plate, rear drums and brake parts, vacuum lines, K&N air filter, wiper hoses). On new Jeep, installed skid plate, connected hose and motor for rear wiper, trimmed front fender wells and flares, installed those rubber doohickies under rear axle so it doesnt slam into frame, connected vacuum lines, put in K&N air filter.

Default 5-29-10: An XJ Day

Replaced all shocks with Edelbrocks, which took way longer than expected after shearing two bolts on the rear shocks. With some help from car buddies, we installed all four shocks using some clever approaches to replacing the sheared bolts. Also installed a new alternator after driving approximately 150 miles on battery power only. As the engine finally shut down when the battery was completely drained, I was able to exit the highway and gently coast into a gas station and pull into a parking space...just like I was living right.

replaced Rusty's shocks with Fox shocks and also the 2 tailgate shocks. So much better now. The tailgate opens on it's own when you pull the handle. That gate freakin hurts when it falls on your head.
Tomorrow is fuel injection cleaning and full tank of gas! Maybe a wash too
