Got these for 50 I believe. Why strengthen when you can replace!

That is preferable. Where do they come from?

Straight piped it.

My muffler was falling apart.... literally

Both ends had separated themselves from the canister and the top of the canister itself had cracked as well.... which explained why when I was driving I felt hot air expelling into the cab through the holes in the floor. YAY!!!! I was being poisoned by exhaust!!!

If anyone goes with a Dynomax or Thrush (made by Dynomax), I would definitely recommend the welded muffler.... the regular ones are just not sturdy enough to handle offroad abuse.

I, myself prefer flowmaster anyway, but either way... get a welded muffler. You'll be glad you did. For now though, I'm diggin' the straightpipe. 2.5" pipe all the way back from the cat. It will do fine until I can scrounge up the dough for a FM Super40

Wish I still had pics of my Comanche muffler. The top was split in half lengthwise and exploded upward.
The one on the YJ right now looks like yours, but both ends have broken welds 80% of the way around

Lol it had no muffler for that. Glasspack and a turndown. The muffler really died when it got submerged in a frozen water crossing lol

Yeah, I think that's probably what really did it in for mine. Lots of water here in Florida. Heavy-duty body of the welded mufflers would probably hold up better.

Though those are very nice, I wouldn't want to do all that work in replacing them. The skid plates also protect the arms, they're great for my build and what I will ever put it through.

I diddnt think it could fit together tightly, if it did I wouldn't think it could ratchet.
On my powertrax it has to have a certain gap for it to unlock and lock when it should
