What did you do to your Cherokee today?

BG44K
Hey Guys,
After talking with Cruiser54, I decided to give some BG 44K a shot. The owner I bought my XJ from didn't drive it much and it sat a bit, so I figured some cleaning would be in order.
Last week I purchased some and added it to a full tank of gas, after just a 1/4 tank I could tell a difference. Was idling smoother, ran smoother, and was all around quieter. After I got through 1/2 a tank it improved even more. I've since filled back up after half a tank per Cruisers instructions.
I would highly recommend BG 44K as a fuel additive to clean up the top end of your motor. I will be using it every 6 months from here on out.
I've never used any seafoam before, so I can't say myself that it's better than it, and I'm not trying to start a debate. But, if you have used seafoam without any good results, maybe give BG 44K a try and see what happens.

Glad you had positive results, but as far as the "every 6 months goes" that really sounds like a waste of money unless you dump sugar in your tank. Think about it... you just blasted away 17 years worth of crap, it's not going to need a cleaning again in 6 months lol. A couple extra pennies each fillup for a quality gasoline ( http://www.toptiergas.com/retailers.html ) pretty much eliminates the need for that anyway. Chevron with Techron is an excellent fuel.
When you say, "97 Cherokee Sport" to people, it doesn't sound that long ago until someone points out that it was 17 years ago (going on 18)! I'm still fairly young, but man that makes me feel like I'm getting old.

Hehe I know what you mean. I don't think anybody considers a vehicle younger than themselves really that old. Just not in style anymore. Mind you our XJs were built while the Backstreet Boys were on the radio...

Tires
Swapped out the bull**** 215/75R15's for some 235/75R15 Cooper Discoverer AT 3's that I found on Craigslist for 200 bucks with like new tread. Also had all new rear leaf springs and hardware installed a few weeks ago. What a difference in ride height.

LOL! Never thought I'd hear someone reference the Backstreet Boys on the Cherokee Forum. Nicely done.

Went to start it to drop off my gf's sewing kit at her friend's house, cranked and no start. Great... better just need a couple slaps to the wires, also more oil than normal is coming from the pcv valves.

Installed bar pin eliminators and new rear shocks...
One of the bolts was already broken flush with the body, Drilled it out,
installed a bolt, lock washer and nut on the one that was broken.

These last two weeks or so (i have lost track of the weeks I have been working on my rig) I have brought her back from the doomed. I got tired of trying to JY part Zoe together to get her up to working order. So enter in the upgrades!
Rugged ridge HD tie rod and drag link
Rugged ridge Pitman arm (I had to replace my Pittman arm and steering box)
New front set of Maxxis Bighorn 265/75/R16 (front ones were bald from lack of alignment since the Pittman arm and steering box were shot)
New power steering lines
New idler pulley
New power steering pump
Oil change
There is still a lot that I must do to make Zoe closer to feeling better. I plan on ripping the carpet out and putting dynamat underneath some easier to clean after trail fun carpet, a winch and winch bumper, and of course some sweet lights.
