Anyone suggest or warn of particular brands?
Ordered a OEM Mopar unit from Kolak.

Edit: Read decent things about the BWD units from oreilly but nothing but bad about all the rest.

New inspection sticker and moved rear tires to front and got new rears. Second year in a row the inspection station ignored my exhaust leak haha

And on a side note, jeep still feels like it wants to death wobble but it is much smoother going down the road with the good tires on front now. Much less shake in the steering at high speeds

Installed a clock. Now I can tell time on cloudy days and after dark. Been using a sundial for years (don't have a cell phone).

Drove it to work. Decided on a whim to check tire pressure. Turn out the small nail in my rear tire isn't just in the tread block - it's a piercer. Problem is that the nail is right in a section of tread that I accidentally rolled over a cut culvert pipe... so there's a nice slice across the tread right there. Should be fine plugging it, but in the off chance that it's not.... well I guess I'll be stuck with the spare for a bit. Oh well, not the end of the world... new tires can't come soon enough though.

You could always get it patched. Might cost a little more but it'll be more reliable especially with the cut in the tread

A fellow XJ'r pointed out I could trim another inch-or-two from the backside of the front wheel openings. Decided it was about time to finally fold that inner fender seam while I was at it. Didn't get pictures after I cleaned it up with a flap disc. I'll do that tonight after I paint. We have a New Year's Day Jeep run with Midwest Jeep Thing, so have to get it all done before then!

Cut that sharp corner off the bumper too.

Bought a grease gun and some grease so I can crawl under it and hit all the grease fittings today.

I have no idea when it was last greases, but I have put about 1000 miles on it and haven't greased it yet In my defense I didn't own a grease gun and my brother kept saying he would lend me his and would forget to bring it every time.
