Fixed my broken console lid/armrest with many machine screws and nuts.
Checked fluids, etc... Continually amazed at how a 185k engine uses zero oil.
Got in some white/amber switchback LEDs for the front parking lights similar to what we used to use in the service truck bodies at work. Did a little recon in the front end and decided they'll go in when I have everything apart for the cooling system and power steering overhauls.

Broke out the measuring tape to see if I could wedge a Cobra 29LX in there some place. I think I might be able to get it in and still have it usable with some minor mount fab and modifications.
Why such a big full featured CB? Because I found one new in box and wrapper for $100 no tax and the old Realistic TRC 465 is on its last legs. The channel selector works only when it wants to and the same thing with all the other dials and switches. Can't expect much more from it, it was well used, stored in a garage for a number of years and free to me.

Got all the bearings and seals together for a rebuild on my NP242
Weather is going to be at or below freezing for the next week it seems, might not be able to get around to it for a while, but I have all the parts

Tonight I'll be replacing the radiator. While I'm at it I figured I would replace the water pump and thermostat as well, should be a good time.

Removed the cigarette lighter and relaced with Dodge Carvan plastic plug that says " Power Outlet". Also, added wire harness for new Euro style lights

No, I don't lick fish.
Mine sounds like a diesel... from the front of the jeep there's a nice lifter tick, from the straight-pipe exhaust... sounds like a dadgum cummins. I'd love it a lot more if I didn't have the carpet removed and holes in the floorboards.
Take pics... I'm still deadset on getting a 242 for mine and I want all the visuals on rebuilding them that I can find.
Not necessary, the plastics have about a 1/2" gap from the floor without the carpet or foam being there. I removed everything from mine, carpet, foam and all and they don't even come near touching the sheet metal.
I like your keepers. I think I'll use that design. Thanks for the pic.
On to what I did.... just made it shiny again.
Don't mind my disasterous excuse of a garage... I haven't had a day off in a coon's age to be able to clean it out.
