what i did to my cherokee today :(
I changed "from" Synthetic Oil to High Mileage Engine Oil
This fella at Jiffy Lubetoday talked us into changing, we had a 3 hour drive after the oil change. about 70 miles into the drive the engine started knocking really bad
we made it home, but now I don't know what to do ? Make them fix it, or is that reasonable?
Any and all suggestions are welcome

No, I don't lick fish.
Speaking of Tesla, I saw a brand spankin' new Model S on the side of the highway last night cause it got demolished by an Explorer. I laughed heartily.
But I kept driving cause we were on our way to get my gf an LJ! She's officially in the family, and the next step is to get her an XJ trail rig

Needless to say, I didn't change the filter because it's serviceable, but when I got home, I was so paranoid about the job that was done to my engine, that I ended up changing the oil again myself to make sure they didn't screw something up... so I ended up paying more than DOUBLE for something I could have done on my own.
Moral of the story - don't pay one of those places a dime for convenience sake or to save a buck... it's not worth it.
As far as the knock, I can't think of why it would be doing that off the top of my head, but have you checked the oil level yet? I don't see any reason why changing from a full synthetic to a high-mileage oil (which is typically a synthetic blend) would cause a knock unless perhaps they overfilled it. The only other thing I could think of is that they damaged a wire or knocked one loose off the cap so you essentially have a dead cylinder.

Decided to jump on the Currie johnny joint bandwagon...the flex joints in my RC upper control arms started clunking after about 500 miles and I refuse to rebuild them just for it to happen again. So, bit the bullet and dropped $180 and will be replacing both the UCA and LCA joints with the johnny joints.

What did you do to your cherokee today?
I have a bowless on my YJ. That's the factory hardtop, and it's coming off so we can install the factory soft top that's still boxed since new. Also came with a roof basket, two spares on Ravine wheels, a CB, and more stuff. We got a deal

Not trying to be a jerk so please don't take it that way, but my first suggestion would be to never bring it to a place like Jiffy Lube or any other place of the like to have your oil changed. Last time I went to one of those places I had a K&N Filter inside the factory airbox with a sticker on the outside of the airbox indicating that I had one and that it was not disposable and the idiot doing the under the hood stuff pulled it out and showed it to me "Hey man, your filter's really dirty and oily - you need a new one". When I told him it was a K&N and that it's serviceable he said he'd never heard of that and persisted to tell me that I needed to change it.
Needless to say, I didn't change the filter because it's serviceable, but when I got home, I was so paranoid about the job that was done to my engine, that I ended up changing the oil again myself to make sure they didn't screw something up... so I ended up paying more than DOUBLE for something I could have done on my own.

Adding way too little or too much oil is common, as is "stupid" stuff like leaving out the drain plug, not adding oil at all after draining it, using the wrong filter, not removing the old filter gasket, loose filter, over tightened filter, etc.
Add to this most of their filters are the cheapest POS they can find (often orange-can Frams with different paint and no "grip" material).
I'd at the very least change the filter and check the oil level, and it would probably be best to change the oil again, and hope they didn't do any damage (though knocking generally isn't a good sign).

Took it out to my brothers and did something I haven't done since November, went out to the barn and looked at my Stealth. Dang that is one sexy car, but I think I like the XJ better
Only thing is when I went to sit in it I smacked my head on the roof, I am not use to sitting in something so low

Yes it is an R/T, but not the twin turbo. There are 2 R/T models, the top of the line AWD TT, and the FWD NA like mine. The FWD like mine is basically an ES with R/T TT trim.the TT guys make fun of the NA Stealths, but they are still a reasonably quick car that handles like it is on rails
