Yesterday I tried to solve all the rattles and creaks that were driving me crazy. Just as the sun was starting to set I got them all fixed, I just turned up the radio and not a creak or rattle was heard

Those aren't trailer wheels! Jesus, people...

The trailer needs better weight distribution. It was about 40% tongue weight cause that's where my spotter told me to park it. I quickly learned that lesson after I started driving

Glad I'm not alone in having that lock-ring issue... Just went through this on my Honda... should have been the easiest part of the entire process, but nooo... I even bought the $40.00 special tool for it.

Default side steps

i removed both side steps from my XJ today...and im pleased i did..the 4 out riggers are rotten, they were just waiting to drop off on the road..so now i need some 1-1/2 inch angle iron and i can start to make 4 new out riggers, theres just enough metal on the old ones that i can use as a pattern to make the new ones...time to get out the welding gear and the grinder.

Driveshaft #2 started to show some vibes almost immediately, so swapped in driveshaft #3 and its smooth like glass. Guess #2 wants to be the emergency spare.

I know what trailer wheels are. I also know what steel wagon wheels are.

Rims used on trailers are typically 5-6" wide with dick for backspacing (centered on all the rims I've seen). Just because they look similar does not mean they are interchangeable.

So just for information, what happens it you do bolt them on an XJ?

The tires on "centered rims" would sit out farther to the sides but is that a huge problem, especially for a spare

My understanding is that most 5-hole trailer wheels for the past 50+ years were jeep/ford lug pattern. I've got bunches of them sitting around.

They're strong, but there are issues with backspacing, hub diameter, and, most notable, width. Could you use one on your Jeep? Maybe. That depends on a lot of factors unique to your rig.

But even if everything else was fine, they're "For trailer use only." Even if all the physical variables worked for you, you'd better hope your insurance company doesn't find out about them.

...and if you look at those pics they are all slightly different from each other. Some are extremely different. I want the same type of wheel I currently have with the proper back spacing.
Also I said I have been looking for several years. Let me add that it has been a very casual search. I look in the salvage yards when I go and peruse CL for them on occasion. I'll find it.

Thanks. That first pic was stock with a 33x12.5x15. The second pic is the same size tires with a 3" lift.

I happily proved a lot of people wrong when I did that, cause back then almost everyone said that combination couldn't be done. I got a lot of my info from ktmracer, who used to do rock crawling competitions.

On a side note, the Camaro is looking toward the sky cause it didn't have an engine in it at that point

The second picture how roughly I imagine 35s will look like on my 4"s of lift.
