Most common culprit is the Neutral Safety Switch. Try starting it in Neutral instead of Park.

Chased down the AC problem to the fitting at the condenser. New part in today and we will see if the new hose solves the problem. Looking forward to some AC.lol

I have a manual trans, and it's never cared in the past about being in gear or not anyways... But I did check that. It acts like the ignition switch isn't sending the electrons to the start circuit, because I don't even get a token relay click... Plenty of volts and everything else works. Tested the switch this morning and it seems to be acting properly... Also just went through grounds and a few harness connectors and whatnot to no avail.... Just haven't found the right bit to poke with my stick yet...

Rear Bumper Tire/Swing
Today drove my XJ out and I picked up this!
So last night I was browsing C.L. and came across something I could not pass up. The guy posted Pics. of a bumper/tire swing out carrier. He runs a junk-yard. Said he thought it was for a Jeep. So this morning I pulled some money and headed over to check it out. It is missing the tire mount but I figure that wouldn't be hard to make. It turned out to be for an XJ so I snagged it. I was going to build one some day but for the money he wanted for this I couldn't go wrong.
I mounted it on my trailer project for now so I could work on the tire mount and prepare it for paint to match my front bumper. This thing is way better than what I could ever had made.
Does any body know what brand this bumper is?? It would be nice to get the mount for it 'cause it is adjustable to the tire size.

Yep, did that. Took apart about a dozen different chassis grounds and harness connections and cleaned them, fuses are all good and everything has voltage where it should. Got a buddy to help and we successfully pull-started it so that answers a couple of questions. Got it to the house which was the important part, now I can poke at it at my leisure. May try to bridge the posts on the starter later, but right now I'm tired of looking at it. More fixy in the morning when it's cool.

I know what that's like from my '95 that had the failing starter. I'd get x number starts out of it than I'd have to crawl under and hit it with a hammer and get x more starts out of it. Over time "x" got smaller and smaller and the number of hammer whacks to make it work grew bigger and bigger. With my other Jeep blowing its radiator in the middle of winter (no Jeep in winter is bad news) I finally had to replace it.

Whoops. Bought another one, built the way I want it. Spending the day at the boneyard tomorrow getting interior pieces, headliner, tail lights, and other misc parts. Also gunna need to pick up a shop vac to get all the dirt out.

Quote; Here are better pics keep in mind this tire carrier came off a late model bronco,
Thanks for sharing that, looks like it works good. The way this tire carrier was designed it looks like they made it so that you can adjust it to accommodate different back-spacing on rims. It has threads for a very large set screw and a way to bolt it (clamp it) so that it won't budge.
