New Toy Project
Just got a "new to me" XJ. I have owned several Jeeps and been looking up at the undersides of Jeeps since the 70's. Just put a Zone Brand 3" lift with an Add-a-leaf, some new Cooper rubber and new wheels from Tire Discounters. Added new stabilizer links and 1" trans drop kit. Easy install for the most part. I did have to install new rear brake hose. Used one listed for a 95 YJ Wrangler. It provided an additional 3" of length and worked out just right. Front hoses still have adequate length. Found this Jeep from a VA dealer. Thought I could save some time and money running around the east coast looking for a quality rig. What I got was a long list of issues and a dealer who showed no interest in making things right. This is a Roanoke-Salem dealer that "specializes" in Jeeps. Not to worry, I will get the bugs worked out and enjoy this one for years to come.

Cleaned it up and drove it today to our local club meet and greet/work day. I haven't actually drove it in a while.

Last week I replaced the sway bar, links and bushings then drove it and there is still a little slop but not a full on death wobble anymore (pics to follow eventually) and today I started the heater valve removal. I am waiting on a hose to be delivered to Advance Auto tomorrow to complete it but the heater core is flushed out and not leaking in the cab but I discovered that the leak appears to be coming from the top radiator hose so my list for Sunday after work just expanded.
