Lol, I'm about to sorta do what you've just done. New front(D30) and rear(Corp8.25) Axles with 3.55 gears. Gonna keep these axles and truss/sleeve them to keep 33s/35s from blowing them up and bending housings.

Then I go to big boy axles and 37s. D44 up front and a Ford 9" or D60 in the rear.

lol, you know you drive an XJ when you rent a rug doctor for the house and think "Hey, I can clean the Jeep with this"

I was gonna stick with the Chry 8.25 in mine, but it was the old one with the 27 spline stuff. I got a good deal on an 8.8 from a late 90's Explorer and just went with that. In the long run, it was cheaper than a 29 spline carrier and axles for the 8.25

thanks, i like em, i was thinking about getting some amber led strips right next to them for turn signals, or maybe on the bottom of the window. just have a relay turn them on. i like the lights, its a hella cool third (3rd and 4th) brake lights.

yeaaa man!!!

i thought of that a couple moths ago when i realized i didnt like drilling into and putting up a hack incandescent bulb... so i made it look alittle cooler. after positioning them in different places, i thought of honda crvs and how i liked the elevated lights on the side, so i stuffed them there and have gotten lots of comments on them. definitely a good mod for people who dont have a 3rd brake light. the only thing i dont like is how they light up faster then the stock incandescent lights, ill just have to find a way to put leds in the stock housing....hmmm

and for this weekend, i got my wheels mounted, U.S. wheels 15x8 with 3.75 inch backspacing. goodyear wrangler 235/75s on them, and i have a 3 inch lift ill be putting on...gonna look mean. i just lost my job so i wont be doing much more till i get another job...

I bought some from Rustys Off Road. They are stout with many mounting points.

I'd rather cut out the stock rocker panels and weld in a piece of box tube. not only will that be cheaper BUT it would also be beefier if done right. Given a certain tool and skillset would be required.

A list of things I replaced on my Jeep the last 2 days: brakes, ball joints, steering stabilizer, adjustable tracbar, whole new steering system, axle shaft u joints (plus another driver side axle shaft I had to get from the jy), lower control arms and added 1.25" spacers in front. The back will have to wait.
