Ordered new HD leafs from quadratic. I was installing a budget lift last week with shackles and spacers. Well when I installed one shackle and I lowered the xj on the ground the stock leaf literally bend down wards =[

Well no one ever listens to me when they make threads about doing budget lifts. Its a waste of time to do shackles on stock leafs. The longer shackle tries to stretch the leaf out as it compresses. You'll get awesome flex but will be bottoming out quite often. An AAL onto a new leaf pack would have done you better, a harsher ride, but better than that

When I bought my jeep I had a choice between mine and another that had a budget boost with shackles... I looked up under the back and told the guy right then, "yeah, I'll take the ratty blue stickshift!" Those stock leaves were doing some scary crap, which explained much about the ride when I test drove it. It had other issues of course, but that was the straw, so to speak.
