Nobody telling you what doesn't work for your junk. I have been running without a valve for several years and I am well aware of the benefits. The problem for me (which you haven't even asked about--thanks for assuming motive) is that my AC compressor is old and doesn't work very well so I don't have enough cold supply.

If you look at the FSM for the pre-97 ducting you will see that the heater core is always exposed. Meanwhile the XJ compressor is the same size as the YJ compressor, tiny, too small to work well in normal conditions. That is why they added a valve. The original valve design is a pos and so I am trying to optimize my setup with a cleaner simpler install. I don't care if you don't like it, noted and we can all move on

Geez, I wonder why all of the ones I did work so well in Arizona in 100 degree heat, on systems that were converted to R-134a?

I'm truly baffled.

I better get my nose into a manual and figure this out. I may have been misinforming the Jeep community for years!!! And all those folks who responded after eliminating their HCVs with positive results? Lying no- good placating SOBs!!!!

Probably because your AC compressor had less than 350,000 miles on them?

I have NO heat from the vents when the control is set on Vent. If you have warm air then, your blend door is misadjusted.

So, there is no warm air mixing with the cooled or fresh air.

Put a new compressor on...........

I don't either when the controls are all the way over to cold, but as soon as you move it to any position warmer then the blend door starts moving intake air THROUGH the heater core and it starts pulling it in heavy

One day I will, in the meantime I'm going to risk $20 on testing something. If you don't like my HVAC testing, stay out of my Jeep

Have fun.

I can't sit idly by and let others get sucked into you saying that eliminating the HCV has ill effects when I know it doesn't. Carry on.....

I didn't say that here, you're just arguing with things you wish I had said

When asked I tell people my experience from running without a valve, is that my AC only works reliably at 100% cold. There still room for people sharing their experience?
