Good thing it wasn't like that on all three moldings.
Goof off gets that right off I used a rag and wiped it off in no time

very true, I can't see myself owning anything other than a jeep with a 4.0

Picked up another NP242 as a parts donor. I have enough to build another complete unit now.

Well today I rotated the tires, did the alignment, figured out where I was leaking oil, installed my lights, removed the rear sway bar, and started sorting my bolts to remove the hitch, also ordered up some moog tie rod ends so I can put the leveling kit on

Default So, one thing led to another. . .

This is what I started out by doing:

BEFORE

AFTER

The above took me about 15 mikes. I was feeling pretty pleased with myself, but I happened to have the oil filter adapter O-ring set just lying there. . . .

I did my valve cover gasket last weekend. This was next on my list to get the old XJ to stop leaking.
Holy cow! That thing is a booger to get off!
Got her done and cleaned and new O-rings in and re-installed. The XJ engineers may need to be beaten with a bar of soap in a sock. . .

The next thing will be a triple+ threat. Timing chain cover gasket, front seal in the TC cover, oil pan gasket, rear main seal.
May the Jeep gods have mercy on me

Poll question: Was it a T-60 or a 14mm Allen key?
