I regapped the old ones. Only one of the plugs had an iffy electrode. 3 looked new, with the right kind of build up, and 2 looked like they were installed with a huge (0.10) gap. I imagine they would spark hot, but weren't helping out much on start-up. Didn't notice it until the temp hit 40 degrees, though.

Ugh, went to get tools out of the Blazer and the rear window motor decided to act up! One hour or more later had to get window up by visegrip!:brickwa ll:
Messed with trans on 95 and going to rebuild it this week.
Replaced a missing trim under the dash on the 96
Hope to put hitch back on 96 and get the car dolly ready to go on it also.
Maybe all 4 shocks as I have them.

So, I took the jeep for a little drive today, as it's my wife's car, and if something goes wrong during the week (and I work 3.5 hours away from home) it is my hide.
Well, I smell a little coolant on my drive, but don't think anything of it, until I pull into the driveway and old faithful explodes from under the hood.
So, I pop the hood and notice right away that my heater controller is snapped in two at one of the heater hoses. I remembered that sucker being constantly in the way last night while pulling the plugs, so thought I'd inadvertantly broken it. When I dig the plastic pipe out of the hose, I noticed that it'd been broken before, and someone tried to get the heater hose to grip on the 1/2" left on the pipe. And evidently broke it again, during the process.
Some people, and their mechanics....
Well, that's at least one more thing that can go wrong, that is now taken care of....
By the way, I thought the old controllers were mounted out of the way, on the firewall. I will remember to be extra careful about that fragile POS from now on....

Blue, JMHO but I would stay away from the Taylor wires. I had a set on my old honda civic that seemed to eat through themself on thier own. No rhym or reason I just happend to notice from a picture I had taken while I was in the process of my turbo upgrade. It may just be my luck but who knows.
Anyways last week I installed a set of wheel bearings on my jeep had to do both because someone replaced the drivers side with the wrong style and I didn't want to have mismatched wheel bearings to cause more problems. And then a few days ago I witnessed my Battery volt gauge peg out on 19volts, didn't think anything of it just shut off the jeep and it went away. Then thursday night I was on my way home from a movie with the wife and it did it again, so I put in a new alternator on friday. And the jeep eats the bank acount exactly one year after I bought it. Last year it was the whole cooling system a week after I bought it.

Removed the throttle body and cleaned in thoroughly, then reinstalled with a new gasket. The Idle Control Valve was gunked up pretty bad, took a while to get it cleaned up.
Installed new Cap and Rotor, discovering that the old rotor was pretty much gone and the cap wasn't much better.
Installed new plug wires, discovering massive corrosion on the ignition coil lead, which a little WD40 and steel wool solved.
Changed the spark plugs. These concerned me, 2 weeks ago I cleaned and regapped them (they were badly worn). They were pretty rough, covered in white buildup that appeared to be soot from burning oil. 2 weeks later and they have buildup again, but not as bad. We'll see if the new cap/rotor/cleaned connections help.
Seafoamed her. Man, did she smoke! Running smooth though, now.
Tried to change the temperature sender in the back of the head (broke the electrical connection off doing the valve cover), only to have the bolt head bust off. Now all that's left is the part with threads... DOH! Any ideas? I might have to take this one to a shop.
Installed a new oil filler cap from Autozone. I'll pick up a real jeep one later, this one is solid metal and it gets HOT. The old cap wasn't sealing tightly, and oil was leaking out onto the top of the valve cover. Sign of bad blowby, or just a design flaw?
Tested fuel pressure at the rail, everything within spec. My hard start issue seems to have been solved with the other work, so I guess low fuel pressure at startup wasn't it.
I'd do a compression check, but it's running good, and I'm worried about what I'd find. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.
