Reconnected the wire that runs to the speaker in the driver's side front door. It's been a few years since the speaker worked. See how long I can last with a little distortion before i need to buy new speakers.

Mine has good people and always heard good things for Spectre replacements. Dunno. Going to hope they will warranty it ahead of time so I don't have to pay for it & return for refund. Not sure how their returns work.

After buying and only driving on a few short trips around town I drove it 2000 round trip from Portland to Huntington beach CA in just four days. Bonsai'ed it there and drove straight thru nearly 22hours which included a white out and only being allowed to pass thru Shasta due to being 4x4. Then three hours of LA rush hour. The return trip was just as bad driving north to Weed (yeah theres a city in CA named Weed) and encountering more blizzard conditions. White knucked it at 35 mph feeling like a pinball with semis all around all the curves thru shasta and Grants Pass. Slept a few hours in a mcdondalds parking lot then cruised into town midday. The old beast did well. Only about 300 in gas and two quarts of oil. While the heat wasnt 100% and the bastard lift resulted in an edgy feel to the steering im now fullconfident in my new daily driver.

About a week and a half ago while driving home from work, I heard a rattling noise coming from the front end and the check engine light came on. Turned out that the alternator bracket had broken. Thankfully I was able to limp it home - it threw the belt right as I pulled it into the garage! After several days of unsuccessfully searching for a new bracket, I managed to find a welding shop that welded the bracket back together. I don't have the equipment or the training to weld it myself. Upon re-installation, I discovered that one of the arms on the alternator housing had also cracked into two pieces!

After managing to get that welded as well, I finally got everything back together and the Jeep lives again!

Discovered my passenger floor pan needs replacing. And the cross member is half shot. I discovered this while trying to put new bolts in my seats.

Drove it to work, keep on thinking about my HID upgrade I did with my headlights and I'm like ya know getting these things weren't that worth it, because when one bulb finally decides to burn out then that's $100 for one bulb. Not quite practical for me. When a bulb burns out I might just sell them with out the bulbs.

One HID bulb shouldn't cost $100. Is it an H4 equivalent?

Probably not it's a 6000k D1S bulbs at my work and for walk in customers we list them at $100 but I know I can get them on commercial for like $50 but if I didn't work there I wouldn't want to wait for bulbs to show up at my door for a cheaper price, ya know?

Cleaned the snow off it, started it up and drove it to drop off a resume. I need a new job so I can afford to buy parts and upgrades for it
