Did some work on my overhead console today, I'll start a thread once I'm finished but here's a couple teaser Pics. Now to start taking out the headliner and figure out how to mount it overhead.

The last couple of days I've been using the XJ as my daily driver since my usual daily ride is still under a foot of snow. As it happens this week I'm on a job that has had me driving about 120 miles round trip each day. It's the first time I've had this Jeep on a high speed run for any length of time and it's a real trooper, scoots right along.

Started removing the front axle from the parts jeep. Didn't get it done because no air tools and no floor jack. All I have is two screw-type bottle jacks.
Got everything disconnected except for the driver's side LCA.
While I was under there, I spied a piece of metal protruding from the oil pan. So at least I know this guy was correct when he said the motor's blown. I'm assuming now that the kid hydro-locked it and threw a rod.

I pulled the overhead console to see about installing CB inside it. I use the CB mostly for NOAA weather radio and ocean conditions.
Switched out passenger seat with one that matches driver side (ZJ seats). Then made a shop chair on wheels out of pulled seat, complete with drawers.

Cleaned my rear drums. My Adjusters on both sides were never moving due to rust. Broke them loose and cleaned it all up. Had the Jeep over a year and today finally got my rear brakes working after a year of only the front working. Also they had air in the lines and needed to be bled. Feels so nice to have a brake pedal haha
