The oldest TJs aren't 20yo yet, and they're plagued with electrical and transmission problems. The oldest JKs are 9 years old and have even more electrical problems, with questionable engines and unproven transmissions.

They aren't gonna be cheap and easy to fix like XJs and CJ/YJs. These are expensive problems to fix.

will probably have a drop down door to cover the spare to make it look cleaner

and ill install some sort of tie downs on the deck as well

i am also aware the wheel wells are quite right but most measurements were guesses as i did not want to go measure stuff haha

Looks good! I've been working on some sketches too; although mine are on a napkin. Trying to work in the spare, compartments, and a sub box. Going two-tier on mine.

All newer cars are expensive to fix. The more electronics you add the higher repair costs are. Just look at the price of a NSS or a clock spring with cruise. The Mopar clock spring sells for $273 and it is just a plastic housing with a 5 lead ribbon wire a plastic case and a couple of connectors. I can rebuild my transfer case and replace the the drive chain for that price

Unfortunately sooner or later the supply of Xjs is going to dry up and we will be left looking for something else to drive. I am watching the prices of JKs, still way out of my price range, but the only option if you want to stay with Jeep and solid axles front and rear

I broke my engine. Sad to say but it went out in a cloud of smoke, lots of noise, and horrible smell.
Limped it the 1/2 mile back home. At 215,000 miles I'm lost as to keeping or junking.

4.0L motors are usually LESS THAN $500. Generally cheaper than replacing the vehicle.

Every time I put in an angle bracket to signify "less than," it deletes the rest of my edit from that point.

Finally got the exhaust put back together so I could drive it without passing out from the fumes

And it looks like my caster adjustment also tweaked the angle on the Trackbar/Draglink so my bumpsteer/tramlining/wandering appears to be GONE

I was driving home from work in my J10, and a tractor trailer merged into my lane next to me. Forced me down a 20mph exit at 70+, and I was sideways through the whole turn.

Truck is fine. I'm fine. One hell of an adrenaline rush! I still can't sit still, and it's been 20 minutes
