While the rear chocks are probably adequate in his situation, I still have to agree with you.

I used to be more lax about it until somebody stole my wheel chocks overnight at my apartment complex. I went out the next morning to keep working, and my Wrangler fell while I was under it. If the axle had pivoted another 1/2", I'd be dead.

Use your safety devices, folks. Chocks and jack stands every time.

Yeah I honestly didn't even think about it. You guys are right, I should have gone ahead and chocked the other side just in case.

And (practically) no rocker rust! Interior ***** and everything looks hardly used.

Nah, it actually broke when I went to replace it, got it loosened about an inch and even with gratuitous amounts of PB the threads eventually caked up and the bolt just snapped...Actually saved me from having to un-thread the whole thing. Put the replacement pieces on, with anti-seize, easy peezy. Looks like the radiator was replaced recently too! Now I just have to figure out why it takes a few seconds to start...

Try cycling the ignition a few times before starting it. The fuel pumps have a common problem of the check valve going bad and allowing fuel to flow back to the tank.

I had an oil leak coming from the top of the oil filter adapter where the bolt with hole with threads in that you screw the oil pressure sensor into. While I was there went ahead and changed the oil, I broke the tab on the pressure sensor that the plug snap to so had to replace that too. I cleaned the connections up on the starter too.

Np. It's built into the fuel pump assembly. You have to drop the tank and replace the pump. My Heep has the same problem, I have a new pump in the garage but keep putting off dropping the tank. Soon as it gets warm I'm going to attack it.

If the PO replaced the fuel sending unit wouldn't that piece have been replaced?

Does the sending unit equal the fuel pump or just the piece up top?

The sending unit is part of the assembly, doubt it has anything to do with the check valve. I had problems with long starts and found out if I cycle the switch 2 or3 times it will fire right up. Researched and found out about the check valve and just ordered a complete new pump assembly. Figured I may as well replace it all while I have the tank out.

I've had 3 check valves go bad, and 2 seals in the less than 3 years I've owned it. Lucky for me I had no clue what I was doing when I got my jeep and took it to a shop so they have fixed it all free every time.

Did they put an Airtex pump in it? If you're having that much trouble, something is wrong

I don't know what they put in, usually they only use mopar or other reputable sources. The first was the original pump, then the other two could've been lemons. The one I have now works great, so far. Never had a problem with it pumping gas, just the starting took longer.

Anyway. What I did to my cherokee today was drive it. 40 miles without a trailer just putting around town. Then 160 miles pulling a trailer. Left with one mower, then traded it for all of this
