Stuff like this makes me so glad I sold the rough country kit I had and went with Rubicon Express. The next one however, I'll piece together myself.

Changed my engine oil and filter, upgraded to a 51515; Re-torqued the harmonic balancer bolt and double-checked belt tension. Listened to it purr like a kitten.

Finished up the door function rehab. The lower pin didn't tighten it up as much as I'd like but the door closes inside the hatch completely now. What's with the door check pin brackets being so expensive!? I decide to try to make one out of scrap, didn't turn out half bad.

Cheapest I'm finding new ones is ~$23!

You know my Uncle Bob?

Yup, we put the e12s back in when we did my transmission swap... meant to replace them we hex, but I forgot to pick some up before I got there and we were in a time crunch. HOWEVER, we didn't HULK them in place either so, hopefully they'll not be so hard to get out next time. The ones in the parts Jeep I have were cranked on so tight I had to grind the head of the bolt off after I pulled the motor and tranny... wasn't an access thing, it was an idiot putting them on too tight thing.

Happy Saturday! Took the jeep for a drive, get 3 miles down the road and boom. Broke the straps off the pinion yoke. Guess it's time for the 8.25 to go in

Went to fire it up to drive 3 hours home and the belt was squealing more than I've ever heard. Think the AC compressor died. There was a brownish dust on the pulley part of it and on the rad hose that runs on top of it. Hopefully the shop I had it towed to can fix it tomorrow

Replaced the failing fuel pump today. Only took an hour, that's very shocking to me. I had time left over to finish the ZJ rear seat swap, install the d-ring floor mounts on the cargo floor and drill a 2" hole on the firewall so I can start wiring for accessories.

Started removing my lower control arm mounts in anticipation of the stiffeners and 3 link. PITA...only got through about half the spot welds, on one side, using a regular drill bit. Thought to myself, "Self, why not get a spot weld removal bit" so I'm picking one up tomorrow, LOL...spent several hours with a regular bit, and it got old fast...could probably just cut them off with a cutoff wheel, but hey, I'm in there, might as well do it right, and have a nice tight fit...also got the trans jack under the trans, and removed the crossmember, Thinking I should be burning in the stiffeners next weekend.
