What's the easiest and/or cheapest(and preferably still water resistant) way to get a trans temp gauge in the cab? Sorry...showing my inner newb...

they make electronic ones. where the sender goes in-line with the cooler lines or the trans pan. i would never use a mechanical gauge for either oil or trans fluid, to many variables.

Hot fluid does not enter line of mechanical gauge like older versions did, if that is what you are referring to.

Drain n fill on the trans, and replaced the resistor. My fan works on all settings now, not just full blast!

Or, get a $20 infra-red temperature gun and shoot the pan for readings.

yep last time i used mechanical gauges for anything they were on a 66 nova drag car my dad had built in the late 60's early 70's so they were the old style gauges.
