re-torqued my KOR track bar, fixed my exhaust rattle by rehanging my exhaust pipe on the giant rubberband hanger, & finally traced down my vacuum leak to the line coming from the firewall to the football canister. the coolant lines to the heater core had melted the plastic tubing. cheap fix: used the plastic ink tube from a bic pen & spliced the line, then wrapped w/ good ol' alabama chrome (duct tape). heater works like a dream.

My seat belt latches were kind of hard to use, I guess from the wear and tear over the years. So I switched them with the ones from my wrecked Wrangler. Not a perfect fit, but they work, and the latching mechanisms are smoother than the original ones. The electrical connection is different though, so I might have to do something about that.

... and I just got done fixing the driver's side door. The PO must have put all his weight on it getting in and out, so it was out of whack. The door was rubbing on the front quarter panel, and now there's a rust hazard. Anyway, it doesn't rub anymore, and now I can touch up the rub spot with paint.

Glad I got that monkey off my back.

so my wife gets home and said the power locks dont work and the radio dosent work too. This all happend when she drove home from work because it all worked when she went to work but did not when she came home she said. I figure it was a fuse so I get a flash light and start pullin fuses and checkin it out. turns out the dome light is not working as well now. I find a bad fuse and figure its the culpret. I go looking threw my tool box and I can't find my little box of fuses. I ask my roomate if they have any extra fuses in there car and they say they do. Turns out the fuses are the wrong size and wont fit into my fuse box. It is now 9:45 and all auto parts stores are closed. "You need to fix this tonight because I need the radio." My wife says. So Im off to find some fuses and head to cvs wich closes in 15 minutes. I race down there and they shut the open sign off when I walk threw the door. I find the isle with the ten auto related products in it and find the last two boxes of fuses and they are the correct size. After check out I head home. I install the new fuse and presto, the radio, door locks and dome light all start working.

the short version= I replaced a fuse and bragged about it.

my '92 yj had an issue w/ the "button" of the lower part of the seatbelt. the spring was broken, i had to shake it and "ease" the shoulder latch into the frame-mounted lower buckle. i survived an accident in my 92 yj that had the full stock front-to-back "square" roll cage that extended all the way over the rear seat. a drunk driver spun out in the middle of the highway & ended up blocking both of the east-bound lanes, so i swerved & ended up several hundred yards down the highway on my lid after hitting his black truck w/ no lights. his rig was blocking both lanes, back end blocking fast lane, front end blocking slow lane & shoulder....multiple-roll high-speed (~65mph) collision later the 2 things that i'm grateful for was the extended roll cage & the time when i really needed it, the spring in the buckle held. gotta luv the heep! (pics will come soon)
