Fondly found the source of some front end clunking! The axle side bushing was even worse. Gonna replace all the control arm bushings tomorrow.

I fixed the exhaust yesterday.
Drove to work today.
Got home, changed, and got back in the Jeep to go see Suicide Squad.
Jeep died in place and wouldn't restart.
Took the truck to the theater after a jump start.
Troubleshooting the YJ now.

Sorry, Niieeeaaal

aww that's cute. all this talk of fuel pumps has me skurred. something I noticed that should have no correlation - swapped/upgraded the battery cables now means no poor mans prime is needed. the jeep literally will fire immediately regardless of conditions. and I do mean immediately.

Picked up a jug of T5 15w40, a 1334 Napa Gold filter, some ultra black, and a jug of 80w90 gear oil. Doing an oil change and changing the dif fluid tomorrow after work.

The oil and the filter are for my Stealth, did the oil on the XJ last month I think it was, but I haven't driven it much so the oil in it has less than 500 miles on it. It should be good till early/mid fall.

Finally solved the mystery of the elusive rear passenger dome light malady (courtesy lights failed to function when door was open). In the past I had removed and checked the operation of the switch which was fine, wires were there but no power to either. Decided at the time it wasn't that big of a deal and screwed the switch back in place until today...

Removed the switch and once again checked operation still good. No power to either wire leading to the switch. Removed door sill interior trim then b pillar molding and the seat belt re-tractor. Found the wires in the pillar leading from the switch, found the connector for the two wires in question on the harness. The two wires from the switch were pinched into the body seam below the pillar. I always suspected something fishy in this vehicles past life around the pillar passenger side/ rear quarter and this confirms it. At first I was going to just cut and splice the wires but then had a hunch. After prying the seam open and yanking on the wires the male connector was still attached to the two wires!
Freakin body guys!
I plugged the connector together checked function and buttoned it back up.

The End.

I am usually pretty good at keeping my intervals. Having 2 vehicles to choose from over the summer makes it that much easier. If funds are short I just take the one that is farthest from needing it.
For the last two weeks I have been driving my mother's 2013 Dart. I hate the car, but I can't argue with the fuel economy, I can drive back and forth to work all week for what it cost to drive the xj for 2 days
