No hard feelings

I see both sides. I love messing around in mud and splashing through puddles cause I'm really just a grown child. I regret it every time I turn wrenches under the Jeep, but I won't stop

Same, no hard feelings. Im right there with you (though at 20 I can still play the young and stupid card). Though I would love to have that much stuff under my jeep, shes all stock right now. On a lighter note, put my new radio in the jeep and also ran some seafoam through it to try to get rid of the loud ticking coming from my top end, to no avail. Also finally got my new pcv valves put on.

Back to work on the rear diff. Ran out this morning and picked up a 1 1/4" socket for my impact gun. Of course it couldn't go smoothly, I jumped in the Stealth drove a couple of towns over to where they had the socket in stock, paid for it and went to head home. That is when the Stealth decided not to start, 15 miles from all my tools and I knew exactly what the problem was. Dirty battery terminals, the car hates the least little bit of corrosion on the terminals and wont start. Everything else works fine, it just wont turn over. So it was back into the store to buy an adjustable wrench and a battery brush. While I was cleaning the terminal one of their "mechanics" came out and told me I wasn't allowed to work on my own vehicle in the parking lot. I told him what the problem was and that the tools and the battery came from their store. The battery was still under warranty so if they wanted to do the work for free they could. The whole time I kept doing what I was doing, and he responded with by telling me I was wrong. I jumped in the car and it turned over right away leaving this so called mechanic standing there confused on how Joe Blow could diagnose and fix a car with a small adjustable wrench and wire brush. All without consulting a computer.

Salad will know what store I went to to get the socket, I am sure he has dealt with their computer mechanics before

Did all new starter wires, marine terminals, and 4AWG cables from the Carquest down the street, and best part, they were all 75% off. Going back down tonight to grab enough to take care of a few more projects before the store closes and moves. Think the wires, terminals, and terminal spray cost me a full $15.

Pinion seal in, yoke back on and torqued to specifications. Exposed thread measurement came withing .001" of what I measured to start, and rotational force is bang on. I am guessing that my earlier problems, not having the right sized socket and the Stealth dying in the parking lot while getting said socket, cancelled out any mechanical problems. That or everything is going to leak like a screen door

Time to fill the diff and go for a quick test drive

Haha, yep I was reading that thinking "don't they have anything better to do?" Not surprised... Glad you got it fixed so easily!
