Prayed to the Jeep gods that my light bar brackets get delivered before Canada Post goes on strike. They didn't show up today, but there is a possibility that it could show up tomorrow.

Honestly a decent flux cored MIG welder will do 99% of anything you could ever want to do on a mild Jeep rig. Even if you want to do aluminum you can mod your own gun, change the polarity and get good enough welds. Or save up and buy a spool gun. My lincoln is rated up to 5/16 and was only about $400(on sale at Home Depot) and has everything to convert to true MIG if I ever need to get real serious. It's a bit more sloppy but on anything that isn't prepped 100% it'll work much better. Just lay it on thick and grind down the top bit flush or into a nicer looking weld. If you're doing it right 9 times out of 10 the metal around it will break before the weld.

Well yesterday.. I spent 3 hrs searching junk yards for either a d 35 left axle or a Chry 8.25 with 3.07 gears.. found axle and got that replaced yesterday... no more roar... also found the last two window trim pieces ... front window channel felt and the outer rubber rain guard along the bottom... rest is in great shape.. so that is what i did to my jeep.. yesterday..

Would a stock front xj shaft be okay on a 3" lifted xj with a SYE? My tomwoods rear just froze up on me and I don't have another rear. I have a junkyard right near me but I need to know if I grab what I need. Also I have the nv3550 5 speed.
I'm using the front shaft from a V8 ZJ? w/auto for my rear w/SYE and 5" lift. Only I'm running the ax15... Not sure if there is a difference in trans length. Measure your tom woods for collapsed and extended lengths and compare with factory measurements. I had to google a while to find the measurements but they are out there.

Drove it to the woods for the first time in a while. No real off roading. Couple of creek crossing and some gravel. But I took my 5 month old son into nature for the first time in his life and I have the jeep to thank for getting us there.
We went to the Shawnee national forest in southern Illinois to scope out some rock climbing I'm trying to do in the fall. Great day. Not a hiccup from the jeep after 5 hours round trip. I do need to grease some fittings though. She's a little creaky.

Should be able to just right click on the picture (assuming it's on a website) and click "copy image url" or "copy image address". Then paste it inside the "IMG" html tags .... so without spaces..... [ img ] url to picture [ / url ]
