Drove it to work today, which for my jeep is a HUGE accomplishment, and planning on taking it off road Saturday. I'm a week behind my schedule, but if I had not broken my accelerator cable, I wouldn't be, so that's on me.
what have people done for the squeaks and rattles in the dash? I was thinking of picking up some sort of foam strip to go in between stuff.

Worst in the morning for sure, even worse if it is wet out.

I finally got rid of the annoying squeal from the idler pulley. I was going to replace it but after removal the bearing seemed just fine so I put it back together and just tightened it up a bit more. That's all it took.

I found out on my 2000 that would squeak, pop, rattle. If you super glue all the little white screw blocks that the dash peaces screw into. That seems to stop all the little squeaks, pops, rattle for me. Give it a try if you take the dash apart.

I had a little time today so finally got around to the underhood lighting upgrade posted by Lancethedance last year:
https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f59/un...lights-216098/
So I mounted three LED strips under the hood using Loctite "GO2" Gel adhesive and wired them to turn on with the lame factory light. There's also a cutoff switch to turn the lights off if leaving the hood up during the day.
They work real nice at night...
Plenty of illumination for those midnight wrenching sessions!
I'm hoping next week to finally start on the rear disc brake upgrade. Also planning to install new front and rear window washer motors and do some other maintenance while it's up on stands. Maybe I'll finally clean up the rat's nest of wiring around the battery left by the previous owner for the cheapo aftermarket LED lights. (He basically just left the relay and wiring laying on top of the battery.)
