What did you do to your Cherokee today?

Yeah, the parking brake shoes from the ZJ are something of a throwback, but it's a very simple mechanism compared to the rats nest of springs, levers, and cables in the original full-drum brake. Shouldn't have to touch it very often once properly adjusted. (BTW, anyone have the adjustment procedure handy?)

Saab parking brake works the same way but the mechanism is prone to seizing up, especially on the pre-1988 900 models with parking brake on the front. Rebuilt calipers are commonly faulty as well.

Adjustment procedure I think is mess with the star wheel 500 times until you get a slight drag, then back it off a tad. Like regular drums.
So with the help of my 5yr old son, I measured for toe after installing the lift, and yeah.... about 1-1.5" toe in!!! No wonder it drives like poop! So I go to adjust it and snap goes the first bolt on the tie rod clamp! Well here goes nothing, I start to loosen the second clamp and it doesn't snap, so I guess I caught a break, right?! NOPE! Put a wrench on the tie rod tube and nothing budges! Ok, ok, I skipped a step, got out the 50/50 and gave it a liberal soaking and still wouldn't budge! Hmmm... mabey a little heat will loosen it up, so I got propane torch out and still no movement! Grrrr.... so I'm soaking it overnight and am in the process of pricing out new v8 zj tie rods! Oh and I just happen to have a bolt in my parts tub to replace the one I broke so I can get to work tomorrow.

Fixed the window regulator in rear door. Had to remove it for disassembly and to re-spool the cable around drum.
Also locked myself out of vehicle. Luckily it happened while at home. Two ceder shakes, coated wire, and ten minutes got me in. I believe the XJ is more difficult to get into with the gutters being in the way.

The new tags are awesome. I never liked how the 1812 tags looked, so i have Save the Bay tags on both of my vehicles.
