I just looked at Tirecrawler.com, and 4 33x10.50r15 BFG All-terrain KO2s actually weigh 8 pounds LESS than 4 31x10.50r15 Mud-terrain KM2s. Even with the size difference.

The four mud tires with his setup would have weighed 208.4 pounds, while the all-terrain tires would now weigh 200.5 pounds.

So yes, what's saying is 100% possible, and probably true. Also you're talking about a knobby mud terrain vs a glorified all-terrain. They also have much less rolling resistance.

I will say that my Jeep drives completely different with my KO2s compared to the KM1s. The rolling resistance just isn't there anymore and my MPG have went up +2 with the same size tire. I shed about 10 pounds in unsprung weight from my Jeep. Not much, but it adds up.

Actually lighter tires? Well blow me down. That does not happen very often!

More surface area, I believe under the correct conditions you are correct.

Put on my new wheels and had some fun on an old logging road. Really shocked at how well it did!

Before paint

After paint

These new wheels let my tires tuck really well

Im sure a ton can relate to sagging headliners lol ripped mine out today, not sure what the previous owner did to it but geez. I like the way it turned out, its not perfect by any means, the curves around the rear speakers proved to be a challenge, but its better than that rats mest hanging over my head. I think im due for some LED lights though.
