Wheeled it this weekend. Had a blast. First time taking it anywhere. Onlthe damage was a dent in the passenger rocket panel. That happened on a trail that I was told I had no chance of making it. With some spotting I made it up. My buddy even wheeled his stock excursion.

after changing turn signal blinker and testing a few days i finally replaced the upper plastic surround and lower bolster. NOT a fun job. i got 2 out of three screws in the top and cant figure where # 3 went. one missing clip on the bottom but get both screws in and called it good enuf. not happy with the upper plastic fit but it just seems stuck. key and all other functions work so im done!
did washer pumps yesterday aok on squirters.
want to hit inside door bottoms with rust bullet b4 its too cold.
very litt rust on the outside or frame on this well kept 2000 sport. fun drive, cant stay out of it!! 4,0 is gutsy!
not really sure what happened, i properly routed and connected everything that i had jammed into the battery for testing purposes. (after i had a blown maxi fuse incident)
Well, I FINALLY got around to throwing a new fuel pump in my XJ. I don't even know how long it's been down for, few months at least. Just haven't had the time to crawl under there. Got a quick reminder how much it sucks to drop a tank 3/4 full. Found the vent line completely swiss cheese to the charcoal canister, cool! Fixed that with some new line. Had to cut down the tank strap studs so I could get my impact on the nuts. There was no way in hell they were going to be wrenched off. How did I cut them you ask? Good ol' hacksaw! Are my arms sore? Ab-so-lutely!
Never realized that the lock ring for the fuel pump was plastic! WTF! After going at it for only a few short minutes with a striking pry bar (noticing the plastic tangs were only going to get FUBAR'd, I grabbed a 2x4 and gave it a wack on the top part of the ring. BOOM, ring came right off.
Pulled the original 1998 fuel pump out and quickly saw why my fuel gauge would act wacky. The resistor board was burnt up pretty good from about 7/8-1/2 tank range. I also noticed that the filter didn't come out with the pump but was still sitting directly underneath the pump where it should be. I'm hoping it was still attached to the bottom of the pump otherwise injectors may be in the future. There was some nastyyyyy fuel that came out of the pump though. Hoping the ol girl wasn't sucking that garbage in. Guess we shall see.
I undercoated all the areas I can't normally reach when the tank is in place. Everything looks to be in very good shape so far which is always nice to see. Buttoned her all back up after battling with the fill/vent hoses for longer than I should have. Man are those a PITA.
Did she fire up? Haha c'mon now..... It's a Jeep! The battery said no thank you. Zero juice left in it and Daddy's out of money at the moment. Not only that but the damn hood release took two hands and everything I had to pull! Good thing it's a new cable! First time it did this to me I gave it a good yank, the hood popped, and I had a hood release handle in my hand with a short section of cable attached.... Ugh more white lithium is in order. Anyone have a good fix for this? It's the lever right where the cable attaches under the hood. It likes to seize up from time to time.
I can say that the gas gauge finally moved to the right position and I head the pump prime at least! Stay tuned, I'm going to jump her tonight!

i spray everything routinely making sure it gets inside all those hiding places. a broken hood cable scares me!
had a hummer, found how to get it from outside, jeep not ez.

Finally got some things done i've been meaning to be done:
Ran speaker wire to passenger door from amp
Installed speaker
Replaced all white clips on door cards
Buttoned up all the plastic interior pieces
Checked and tighten LCA bolts
Attempted to replace putco harness relays, but I have the wrong ones
Trying to figure out a misfire (cylinder 6)
Checked spark plugs
Switched injectors around
Tightened manifold bolts - found a bunch of them were loose. Had a warped head a few years ago.
Rear o2 sensor was replaced 2 years ago. Upstream was just replaced. Checked codes today and still have cylinder 6 misfire, but rear o2 sensor came up again. So new one of those is on order.
Made a new list of stuff to do next time I'm feeling productive. Still sooo much to do.
