Today the Jeep got a front end alignment and I had the tires rotated and balanced.
Everything drove great! Until I hit a bump at about 45 mph on the way home... The dreaded death wobble reared it's ugly head on me. I had never experienced it before but I had read enough about it that I instantly knew what it was. I slowed down and at about 30 mph it went away. I'm very confused... I have a brand new adjustable track bar that I just installed this week and just today it had the alignment and tires. Also, I drove the Jeep yesterday while it was out of alignment and this did not happen.

There is a little play in all of these. Looks lovely, doesn't it? I also tried to move each of the wheels. Neither has any play with my hands in the 12 and 6 positions but they both wiggle slightly with my hands at 9 and 3.
I know DW can have multiple causes but it looks like at least part of it is in my steering, right?
Looks like you exceeded that. Have you measured yet?
On to what I did (monday)
Was GOING to do the valve stem seals, but I still didn't have the right tool. Ordered one from AZ and went ahead and did the Cruiser valve cover mod (http://cruiser54.com/?p=131) while the cover was off.
Whether that's the cause or not, it'd be good to replace those ends. It'll help with tire wear, too

Yes:
Before
Rear = 5"
Front = 6.5"
Rear stock = 6"
Front stock = 6.75"
Now
Rear = 9.75"
Front = 10.5"
So if my measurements are correct (no guarantee lol) I've gained ~3.75" over stock in both the front and rear. It'll be interesting to see if/when the springs settle as this was obviously more than I was shooting for.

lol... my guess was 3.5", wasn't too far off. They'll settle a little. Moreso with the leafs than the coils. So you'll probably be about 3.5 - 3.25 in the front and about 3 in the rear. I really doubt you'll settle a full inch unless you start adding on weight (bumpers, winch, etc.)
