Finished detailing my Jeep today. Washed the exterior for the first time in over a year. Steam cleaned the seats. Vaccumed the entire interior with the seats removed. Wiped all the panels clean.
Snapped a bolt on the driver side seat. Took 10 minutes to fix by drilling a new hole and adding a 1/2" bolt.
This is the cleaned my Jeep has ever been since I've owned for almost 2 years.

Here are a couple pics from that thread showing the faulty gasket and where the water gets in from
if it is i will do 2 things. 1 get the weathertech floor liner and add a small pad to soak up any drips.
2 i am going to inspect the cowl and cut it if need be to seal it good, then seal the cutout!1pls respond once more on the water path question ok? this is very important stuff because i just did a major rework of my rusted floors, mainly the pass side and ive been baffled. thanks so much.

i really appreciate your pix and the link. do you think the water all comes in thru the heater? is that the only way once it leaks in the cowl?

i removed wipers and grid and measured to the vent. its all the way at the end. cant reach thats sure. i parked on 3 in ramps and poured in a quart of water. it leaked in the kick panel area on those 2 black relays. next i carefully poured again just on the windshield rubber and it ran right thru faster! 2 leaks for the price of one. i wonder just how it gets thru to the inside but not on the dash? what kind of seal between the car outside and the inside under the glass? thought it would be all metal?
i guess that rubber can be caulked. but the vent leak remains. im thinking of cutting an opening on the firewall beside the hood hinge and bending a tab up for access, then caulking a plate over it when bent back down. it will be under hood out of weather. i dont know why the heater case doesnt catch it. i wish it did. i dont like water on the kick area wiring and relays.
we shall see.

Today I replaced the rear caliper and brake hose on the wife's WJ. Over the last 4 years all of the calipers and brake hoses went bad one by one. The funny part was some dummy put a drivers side caliper on the passenger side. It worked fine for the last 10 years, even though the top guide pin was a pain to get out. After I bled the brakes I "burped" the ABS unit and the pedal firmed right up. On her WJ the only way I found to firm up the pedal was to go about 30mph on a dirt road and slam the brakes so the ABS kicks in. Even my local Jeep dealer couldn't get the pedal right after they bled the brakes.
