Plus a installing leather seats so figure maybe do the floor pans too. So instead of using the Dynamat that most people seem too:

Anybody have any opinions?
I used this stuff on my Bug. Made a huge difference with the engine only being 6" behind the front seats. Went from feeling lots of heat to nearly none. Cant say how it did with reducing noise since it is super loud. Cheaper then most others as well. I just got it from a local place but I am sure you can find it on Amazon.

If you are not going to use CCF and MLV just slap as much of that as you can afford in your Jeep. It's butyl based and dollar for dollar it will work the same as original Dynamat. CLD tiles with MLV decoupled by CCF would give better results.

Need some 4* shims. I am going to go with steel as I heard the aluminium ones can break on the trail. Anyone selling some or know a place to get a deal on a set?

I like the idea of the bigger sheet at the link you posted. It is over twice the price of the cheap stuff at Amazon I am thinking of using though. Thank you for the advice.

Thank you also for your advice. So being totally clueless about this stuff I had to Google CCF and MLV. Still a little unsure of what I am looking at though. I had this really stupid idea of using ensolite pads in certain areas. Those closed cell pads that I used to use as a kid when I backpacked. Probably just the roof. Seeing how that stuff is thicker and that is probably the only place I could fit it in. MLV almost seems to resemble that. Thing I could not figure was how to adhere it. Thinking spray adhesive, even good 3M stuff, would let loose sooner or later due to the sun beating down on the roof.

I am more a turn up the volume on the radio kinda guy. Any noise inside the Jeep does not really bother me. Again more a while I am here type thing. That is why I am being cheap about this.

Not RC. I thought even they couldn't screw up shims, but I was wrong.

I called them to confirm that the shims were steel and not aluminum. They assured me three times over the phone that the shims are steel. Then they sent me aluminum shims.

When I got a steel set elsewhere, I used the RC centering pins that came with their shims. The threads were completely ruined on both bolts before I even got the spring packs fully assembled

Thanks for the heads up. I know the you are not supposed to reuse axle ubolts but I just put them on a few months ago, you think I could reuse them when I swap shims? If not I may get Dirtbound's bumpstop spring plates and fresh ubolts to accompany the shims.

Just don't tell anyone and you'll be fine reusing them.

While trying to remove my doors yesterday I came across an issue. I cut the wires and reconnected all them. Everything Works except power locks and now my head unit will not turn on.headunit is what ever and I don't really care about locking my doors but my door latch is stuck in closed position and my door won't unlock. How can I fix the latch? It's very hard to hold my door shut while driving. I have a 1995 Country

Getting my jeep back from the driveline shop in a few days. It's gonna have 2 fully rebuilt axles with 4.88's and grizzy lockers. Can't wait!

Dang. I haven't been following super close, but didn't you regear recently and been having problems with it? Why you pulling the whole axle?

Esolite is a CCF but it really would not do much installed on the roof by itself. It's used between the CLD tiles or dynamat and the MLV to decouple or separate them. Even if you were serious about sound proofing you probably wouldn't want MLV on the roof. It's very heavy. A 100 sqft roll weights around a 100 to 200 pounds depending on the thickness. Hydrophobic Melamine Foam would be what you would want to use but it's expensive.

All of this is probably overkill for what you are describing. Just don't use an asphalt based peel and stick. The Amazon stuff will stop vibrations and keep the metal from resonating.
