Damn rear O2 harness came loose again and was rubbing on the drive shaft. Thankfully no damage this time, ziptied the bejezus out of it.

Discovered the source of a mildly annoying exhaust leak I've been hearing lately. Lol, muffler is coming apart at the seams. So I'll need to address that, and as good a time as any to install a hi-flow cat I've been sitting on. Muffler... I want a more aggressive tone, without being obnoxiously loud or sounding like a fart cannon. Open to suggestions!

Inexpensive and decent sounding muffler. I'm actually going to replace it for a louder one, but this is definitely a good option. This video is an outside/inside demo of the exhaust. Keep in mind, I have no carpet and at the time of the recording, I had the factory exhaust manifold on it with a broken stud at the rear of the head, so that "popping" sound you're hearing is the exhaust leak caused by that.

Hard to tell in the video, but I can hear the sound of my tires over the exhaust when I'm at highway speeds. No drone in the cab to speak of.

Thanks man, that actually sounds pretty good. Sounds like a pissed off tractor at idle.

Drilled the holes to clock the transfercase, finished cutting the passenger side lower control arm off, and made some more money for parts.

Thanks man. 2.5" pipe from the downpipe back, High-flow cat, and the Thrush Turbo muffler.

Here's a video of the same setup with a straight pipe in place of the muffler:

Hmm I bought that muffler and then met a guy who had one installed on his XJ. It didn't sound good like that. It was bad enough that I actually just left it on the curb until someone took it (had to put a free sign on it because some honest person kept moving it from the curb to my front door while I was at work lol.)

There's more factors to the sound of the exhaust that just the muffler. If it still has the factory 2.25" pipe and a factory (or even clogged) catalytic converter, it changes the sound and resonance of the exhaust drastically.

My setup at the time of that video was factory exhaust manifold (leaking, unfortunately), 2.5" pipe from the downpipe throughout, high-flow catalytic converter, and then the Thrush Turbo muffler. Setup is now the same, except the manifold was replaced with a GPP stainless header (Banks Torque Tubs knockoff).

You made a very common mistake in measuring your angle. The angle from vertical doesn't actually matter. The shackle's angle relative to the datum line is what affects your ride and articulation.
